Patrons who shop at big box stores don't always get to park close to the doors; they may actually have to park in the back area of the lot and walk a long way to get to the store.Mr. Furtner further commented that a shuttle service could improve public transportation and attract more people downtown.Mr. Furtner added that when there are downtown programs and events, the business owners in the downtown area do not see an increase in revenue because people are attending for the event only. If these events and programs could be created more strategically to help show the community that downtown is safe, patrons could frequent restaurants and shops and then come back.9.CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED FOR WHICH DIRECTION IS REQUIRED There are no correspondence items being presented for consideration. 10.REPORTS OF CITY STAFF 10.aGeneral 10.a.1Report CS-25-017 and Presentation from the Director of Community Services Re: Committee Orientation and 2025 Community Services Work Plans and Committee Mandate 1.Committee Orientation, Committee Mandate and 2025 Community Services Workplans - CS-25-017.pdf2.Work Plans.pdf10.bParks and Open Space 10.b.1Report CS-25-006 from the Director of Community Services Re: Extended Parking along the Harbour during the Annual Fishing Derbies 1.Extended Parking along the Harbour during the Annual Fishing Derbies - CS-25-006.pdf2.Attachment 1 - Photos of the Harbour areas during the Derby.pdf3.Attachment 2 - Ownership of Harbour Lands .pdf4.Attachment 3 - Official Plan Designation of Harbour Lands.pdf5.Attachment 4 - Zoning of Harbour Lands.pdf6.Attachment 5 - Areas proposed for Extended Parking Regulations including setbacks and areas for traditional parking.pdf10.cArena Operations None.10.dBuilding None.10.eCommunity and Business Development None.10.fFacility Bookings and Community Programs None.10.gPlanning and Heritage None.10.hTourism, Culture and Events None.11.MATTERS POSTPONED There are no matters postponed.12.MOTIONS FOR WHICH NOTICE WAS PREVIOUSLY GIVEN There are no motions for which notice was previously given.13.CORRESPONDENCE PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION 13.aMemorandum from the Chief Building and the Manager of Planning and Heritage Official Re: January 2025 Update 1.January 2025 Development Update .pdf14.DISCUSSION OF ADDITIONAL BUSINESS 15.NOTICES OF MOTION 16.ADJOURNMENT No Item Selected This item has no attachments.1.Committee Chair and Vice Chair Nomination and Election.pdf2.Service Review Implementation Ad Hoc Committee Council Member Appointments.pdf1.At Last Forest Schools Stone Presentation.pdf1.Improve OS CFinlay.pdf1.Committee Orientation, Committee Mandate and 2025 Community Services Workplans - CS-25-017.pdf2.Work Plans.pdf1.January 2025 Development Update .pdf1.Extended Parking along the Harbour during the Annual Fishing Derbies - CS-25-006.pdf2.Attachment 1 - Photos of the Harbour areas during the Derby.pdf3.Attachment 2 - Ownership of Harbour Lands .pdf4.Attachment 3 - Official Plan Designation of Harbour Lands.pdf5.Attachment 4 - Zoning of Harbour Lands.pdf6.Attachment 5 - Areas proposed for Extended Parking Regulations including setbacks and areas for traditional parking.pdf1.Post-Meeting Minutes - CS_Jan22_2025 - English.pdf
